Timberlake Lodge - Grand Rapids

It wasn’t a bad hotel. You just need to know what to expect. If you just need a place to crash for a night, it was fine, but pricier than I would have expected. We were there two nights for a wedding. There isn’t a comfortable place to gather with family. Rooms aren’t big enough for that either. The breakfast was not great, but it works. Grand Rapids is nice area in northern Minnesota. The Mississippi head waters, lakes, and camping are within easy reach. The town has a few things to do along with some decent bars and restaurants.

Came to this lodge to dine on their outdoor patio. Food was excellent as was the service! The patio was comfortable.

We stay in Grand Rapids a few times a year. We picked the Timber Lodge this time, even though it's more expensive, mostly for the pool. But what do you know, they wouldn't open the dang pool! We were told it would be open at 8am everyday upon check in, but that didn't happen either morning. The front desk person just acted like it wasnt a big deal and wasn't her fault (which I'm sure it wasn't) but come on you're not the one with a 2 year old already in a swimming suit ready to go it is a big deal. Next morning, same thing. No discount or coupon or anything offered. We were clearly unhappy and they just didn't care. Won't make the same mistake again!
