Restaurant Ma-mi - Grandes-Piles

If you're going to La tuque on a road trip, this is the perfect spot for a lunch break. Staff is friendly, food is cheap and good.

We stumbled into Ma Mi on the way back to our rented chalet without high expectations. But this turned out to be a real surprise. For what it is, a roadside cafe, it gets top marks for freshness and taste. We all had a small...bean soup which was wonderful. I continued with a caesar salad that was humongous and packed with tasty croutons, grilled chicken, bacon, cheese and other bits. Two of our party had a steak-fries-cheese dish that I had never seen before. All served with a smile and good cheer.

Looked for a place for a quick bite, and stumbled on this place. Not big (about tables and some bar seats), but really friendly service. Food was good. Had the soup of the day (Bean soup.. great for this rainy day), Caesar Salad with...Chicken, Fish Chips, and Poutine with Steak. That was plenty for the of us. Sizes of dishes are on the large side. Recommended.

This is a typical roadside cafe. We were pleasantly received and although the menu was rather limited, it was freshly cookd and quite acceptable. The desserts were excellent!

Since I was a child I have enjoyed eating here. Best economical restaurant for miles and a freindly staff. Most of the town eats here.
