Feedback gevenIt's a nice little restaurant with a homely feel and the food is really good. The service is unbelievably slow which spoils the whole experience. I would like to come back for the food but the service makes it basically impossible. I therefore would not recommend it unless you have a reason to sit all afternoon.
I came into this restaurant with my girlfriend after searching for a good asian option in Graz. i found it over Tripadvisor, saw that it has been graded as the best asian restaurant and decided to go for it. I had already couple of times previosuly bad exepriences with overrated restaurants on Tripadvisor but i decided to test my luck. The restaurant itself is in a good microlocation eventhough a little bit hidden from the main street and has a nice, warm, old styled chic decor. What surprised me as first was the small choice of dishes offered though they have done a remarkable job in branding the venue. Yeah, sometimes People spend too much time on inventing new marketing techniques and equaly forget about the quality and variety of the Food. My girlfirend ordered herself some homemamde Juice and i ordered myself a pint of beer (Murauer beer, i think it was called so.) However the beer came warm and was not even aproximately cold as it should be. Maybe the owner could consider also offering some other beers since the one i drank i did not like too much ... The beer i accepted as a non wanted mistake but what surprised me next was the food. I ordered caramelized pork ribs and my girlfriend ordered herself asian chicken. When the Food came i was first surprised by the microscopic portions and ingredients which have not seen the kitchen sooner they came out of a can or pre-cooked meals. I am not a fan of big portions but this portion would not suit even the asian people so small it was ... I said myself OK, maybe the food will taste heavenly good but then came even bigger surprise since on my pork ribs there wasn´t actualy no meat. When i punched them with the fork it sounded like rocks hitting the wooden boat. The Rice was in smallest possible portion and very dried out so i ordered myself soy sauce to be able at least to swallow it. I called the waitress and she was realy friendly and helpful and she called the cook and he apologized as well and told me he will notify his boss about the ´´so called pork ribs´´ ... I will never be back again that´s for sure and i will also suggest none of my friends to visit the joint since the ´´food´´ served here has almost nothing to do with asian and is overrated. The quality of the food is awful and the ingredients are obviosuly not fresh. I am not a picky guest at all and most of the time i eat what they cook for me without complaining but here i was so negatively surprised i had to write this review in order to give the people a hint not to believe to the reviews too much since it does not deserve even one star. Maybe this is just my personal opinion but since i work in hospitality and food industry for over 20 years and i worked in many of the best hotels in the world i think i have enough experience to see the difference beetwen a hipster wannabe asian restaurant and a real one. Although i must say the service was impecable and they did everything by the book so i would rate the service 5 stars eventhough the restaurant was pretty busy at the time.
We found this place by chance. All was really good - friendly and attentive service and food was really nice. Both for meat lovers and vegetarians among us. Pity we are not often in Graz
My sister and I had lunch there today. She had ricenoodles with chicken and i had indonesian style chicken with rice. Both dishes were great. Tasty, cooked perfectly. I own a similar kind of restaurant and i would definitely put these two dishes on the menu. I am usually very picky about the food but what we had today was DELICIOUS.On the other hand, service could be improved. Waitress was nice and polite, but seemed inexperienced and hardly handling 2-3 not very demanding tables (from what i could have seen.) Cant imagine her serving and handeling things in a busy shift. Regardless, my overall score is excellent.
Although we stopped only for coffee, the food also looked very delicious. Place is very nicely decodated, in some retro style, like you're in your grandmothers kitchen. The staff is really friendly and would definitely recommend the visit if you are in city center.
