The service is consdiering it was one such day. large beirs, a Schweinkotelette. Forelle...vom Rost, and a Thunfische salat with a portion of chips came to Eur which was fine considering portion size and quality.
This a really nice out of date hotel on a small lake. However it is clean and the restaurant food is good quality. We ate a really well prepared lambsrack and bras (sweet water fish). The people are very easy and friendly. Perfect overnight stay...on our way to Kraotia.
Called in here for lunch after we'd been to the Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum nearby. It's a lovely place. Bigger than I thought. We were met by a member of staff who didn't speak much English but he quickly took us to a waiter who was...Croatian but spoke English and German. He was a lovely guy. He translated the menu for us and got us a drink. We sat next to the lake and the views were lovely. You can sit inside or outside the restaurant. The food we ordered came within minutes. My husband ordered a rump steak and it was cooked to perfection. I had schnitzel (I love it) which was yummy. The Croatian waiter (sorry i can't remember his name) got us another drink and was very attentive. I really liked the service and the food and the cafe itself was lovely. There were all sorts of people there, young and old. The owners dog was so cute, it kept pottering about exploring. Which was nice to watch and smile at while you ate.
We waited min before we decided to call the waiter who was rolling his eyes at people. Other people were just leaving afer having been there a very long time and not gotten any service. It's the only place to eat and drink next...to the lake so it seems that they really don't care if people just walk out. The food wasn't too bad but the whole experience ruined our appetite.
We only had a few drinks here, so cant comment on the food (which looked good judging by what could be seen on other peoples tables). Drink prices seem reasonable. We went to Arnies museum and later, walked around the lake a few times. Love...the tranquil nature of the place, quiet surroundings. Was a beautiful evening with the sun shining. The restaurant seems decent enough and can imagine it must have got really busy in its hey day, but when we visited over a few days it seems just nice and quiet, maybe people there (including the joggers which was fine for us as thats all we wanted somewhere to sit by the lake and chill out watching the world go by. Didnt see anyone use the boats they did look like fun for the kids tho. Would recommend a visit, whether you went to arnies museum or not. Easy to get to, just catch number bus from jakomini-platz in graz center. Would definately visit again next time we are in Graz.
