Eastbank Cafe - Greater Shepparton

Fast service at 12:30 during lunchtime. Fresh mixed salad for only $8 and a small latte for $3.50 - what a great deal! The flavors were excellent!

The restaurant offers a nice variety of food and is a good option for lunch.

This cafe is located within the council precinct which includes council offices, Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) and the Eastbank entertainment venue. A such you would expect the cafe given the prime location for locals and visitors to the area would be a showcase for local food and service. It is neither. The Bain Marie contains middle eastern fare which looks drab and flavourless and could have been recycled from the previous service. The kitchen appears to be unmanned so food preparation probably occurs off site. Only two other customers for lunch must send a message to the council as this venue was thriving 18 months ago when seating was at a premium.

I have enjoyed my coffee and meals from this venue when I have visited at a time when they are not busy. Even then I have had to wait quite a while. I'm not sure I would be brave enough to rely upon them for an evening meal prior to a show.
