Meals are huge, I recommend the mixed plate so you get a bit of everything. The Lebanese bread is complimentary and can have unlimited amount.I also recommend the vine leaves and the kibbeh as an entree.
If you are nearby this place is definitely worth the visit. Authentic and very very tasty. Yum .......
Nice Restaurant, very spacious, food delicious, Getting Smaller in Size by the Year & more Pricey as you go, Very Pushy Waiters, FOOD Service is fast , but again Waiters very pushy, There expect you to eat in 1 minute and depart the joint, hence why i stop going there, This Place was one of the Best eatery in Sydney, changing by the years.
To summarise my experience in a few words, poor service, low quality food and pricey. I went to the shop after iftar when plenty of spaces were available and the waiter was not happy that we asked for a table that differ from what she had in mind. We eventually sat and ordered to receive a tabouli with little tomato (tomato are expensive), fried kibbe that is filled with mince but no nuts (nuts are expensive), sambousik cheese that is tasteless, hommos that tastes like tahini sauce with little hommos, and meat that is very dry. Moreover, they seem to have increased their prices as they think they are a high quality restaurant, resulting in paying for 8 small plates that were shared by 2 adults and 2 kids over $150. For that price, I would have got a banguet for 4 people in restaurants that give better quality food. I say with confidence, Gebran is the only place left in the area that is offering such quality. Shame. You want to increase your prices, fine, but give people what they are paying for.
The restaurant has beautiful decor inside with a nice semi-outdoor area at the back. The food was nice, but that's all - just nice. Coming from a Lebanese background, I know what great Lebanese food tastes like, and Al Aseel food is not great. For the reputation it has, I expected the food to be better. Restaurant is also very busy which made me feel rushed to finish my meal as they were waiting to clear up tables
