The actual sushi rice is bland and stale (some of them had this hard type of tooth feeling). Each of the Hosomaki reels (California, JB, Tuna) were the smallest roles I had served. Very thin rice content and very tiny fish content. The Cali roll had no cream cheese. Seriously? Finally I asked in the special instructions for NO SCALLIONS in everything, please! Well, any role had scalions... put the scalions in a Cali roll or tuna roll? Sticky Rice does. It won't go back, it was terrible.
We chased Pad Thai and thought we would try. Get out. The order was quickly finished, but was penetrated into a lot of sauce (as much as it came from the removal container). Was good too sweet and the chicken was so hard that you could hardly cut with a knife or chew it. I even tried to get some of the extra sauce when it was hoping at home that it would help but not. Super disappointed, not try again.
This restaurant has really improved since my previous visit. I was very pleased with my dine-in lunch. The Chicken Pad Thai was excellent. A very generous portion with lots of chicken. I took home half of the order for a second meal. A generous portion of tasty miso soup was also included. Service was fast and friendly. With the addition of a large cup of green tea the bill was only $10. This will be my new go-to stop when visiting the Phoenix Theater, right next door. FYI My Earlier Review: Very fast and friendly service. Just okay food. Very warm and stuffy inside. Booth upholstery needs a redo. While I was dining, several people came in for takeout orders.
Sticky Rice Thai Sushi is my go to place for both Thai and Sushi as it's very close to my house and quite good. Never had a bad meal or experience. I tried something new this past Sat, the Japanese Noodles (I got chicken w the Udon noodles), the flavor was delicious and chicken abundant, however it was swimming in oil. The bottom of the paper bag was covered in it. I literally had to scoop it out (with 2 forks so as not to take any addition oil out) of the container and put it into another one. It's a shame because I really would have liked to taste the sauce without all the oil. Also tried the Fried Tofu and of course had to get a salmon role. Both were delicious. Will try those noodles again but now I know to ask them to hold the oil!
