Chicken Coop - Greenbank

I'm stuck on the way to and from bracebridge. that for a few years. love the buttercups, samosas, roll and spring rolls! I picked up a few of them since I've been away for almost hours and as usual. sarg is great! I recommend a stop here!

This cozy restaurant offers comfort food, a small LCBO, fresh bakery items, and table service. It's a perfect stop for travelers on the Trans-Canada Highway looking for a delicious meal. The tarts are especially delicious.

Shortly before the close stopped, and after a short wait received a fresh, hot, tasty goats and kartoffel roti with exactly the right amount of seasoned for me. I will definitely be back for more.

The Chicken Coop used to be our family's favorite pit stop on our way to the holiday home. However, since it was sold, the quality has drastically declined. Gone are the days of delicious fresh gourmet broths, tasty biscuits, apple strudels, and sausage pastries. Now, everything seems stale, flavorless, and overbaked. The items are packed in plastic and have likely been sitting on the shelf for a long time. The food tastes like cardboard or artificial sweetener. We even bought some chocolate tarts that were so hard we had to throw them out, as they were inedible.

We decided to give this restaurant a try for dinner after seeing a flyer in the local paper. We are locals and used to frequent this establishment when it was a family-owned bakery. We met some friends there and had dinner together. The first issue we encountered was that they did not serve alcohol, despite their flyer stating otherwise. This was surprising, as they had been open for over a year. We all placed our orders (they also have a huge take-out business). Each meal came with rice, although this was not mentioned upfront. Everyone received their meals except for me. After everyone had started eating, we had to ask the server about my meal. Eventually, the server informed me that they had run out of avocado for the dish I had ordered (Thai Avocado Chicken). I was surprised that they had not known this beforehand and suggested an alternative option. I felt bad for our friends, who were almost finished with their meals. I ended up canceling my order and just ate rice, which was plentiful because we had ordered extra. The service was slow and inattentive, and I doubt this restaurant will last long in the future.
