We were visiting from out of town and were told about this place from a local in a women's dress shop near Lake Oconee. We bought hot sauce, pecans, fried peanuts, and sweet treats. We also tasted their soup of the day which was delicious. Next time I'm in the area I am definitely eating here. This is definitely a local gem!
Time to update my review. New owner and definitely a different feel. The store is loaded with interesting products and a lot of selections. Very high priced. Soups are still available along with some sandwich selections during lunch. Produce is fresh and mostly local. There is a large refrigerator section that has cheeses and some frozen meats as well.
A friend at Dell Webb told us we should stop by the market on our way home. It is a very interesting place with so many things to see and eat. We tried some of the banana nut bread. It was delicious. The lady running the market was friendly and helpful. We were very glad we made the stop.
Absolutely love this place. Relocating from a large city I appreciated the friendly and helpful attention. Fried peanuts?!! WTH?! Delicious is all. Chocolate covered honey comb--amazing! You ever eat something that you would have preferred differently but was still really good? This is what I thought about the chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were thinner than I prefer as was the broth. But it was still very tasty. I 'm sure I will be returning here often--if not just to say; Hey Ya 'll!
Neat spot but 11$ for a couple pieces of bread and cold cuts did I wake up in NYC??? Highway robbery!
