Stamey’s Barbecue - Greensboro

Stopped in for lunch a few months ago after going to a Karate tournament at the arena. The food was awesome! It will be our go to place to eat from now on when we are out in Greensboro. Their barbecue sauce is the best we have tasted and purchased abottle on our way out. Since then we have ordered the barbecue sauce twice online. Just wish they came in bigger bottles! :

We hit the drive thru for our first visit. Quick, friendly and easy to navigate through. We also had a lesson on the Family sauces. Ordered the quarter chicken plate and sliced pork. The chicken was juicy and moist. The sliced pork was tender andjuicy. Nice first experience and plenty of parking!

Tasty pork bbq plates. Sweet tea is not too sweet at all. Save room for the peach cobbler with ice cream. A must stop from GSO, 10 mins away from the airport! They still do it the old fashioned way, slow-cooking directly over wood. You can taste thedifference. Loved all the staff. Craver was super friendly and even showed me the pits since I was visiting from out of town.

Very nice staff. I suppose customer service is why they have good reviews. Maybe at some point in history the food was good. Not now. I had the BBQ Chicken and chopped pork combo, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. The baked beans were okay but they were abit too sweet and a bit over cooked. The next best thing was the Mac and cheese and it was nothing to write home about. Thenoodles were over cooked in my opinion and you can get better from a grocery store box of Mac and cheese. Then was the pulledpork...I have nothing bad to say other than that it was edible but not memorable. The BBQ chicken. I can't remember having worseBBQ chicken. It tastes like they baked it (over-baked it at that) instead of putting it on a BBQ grill. For one thing, it wasdry (wing/breast quarter). Lastly, the BBQ sauce (seemed to be cheap store brand) was just poured on top of what seems like overbaked chicken. I'd be shocked if this is not the worst BBQ in North Carolina!

I ordered a large takeout order for a luncheon and had a great experience with Cameron taking my order. The pick-up process was seamless and the food was delivered promptly to my car. The food was delicious and well packaged, making it easy to set up the meal. As a handicapped individual who can no longer cook large meals, this experience allowed me to have a family gathering with no worries about meal preparation. I have used Stamey's Barbeque for this service twice now and both times the food was delicious and ready as promised.
