Feedback gevenMost posters appear to describe this place as a lunchtime venue when ski-ing. By contrast we used it as our low level base for a summer expedition to the high Pennine Alps. Family run since the mid 1990s, the owner speaks no English but does speak French as well obviously as Italian, and the daughter, Eleanora, speaks a multitude of languages. They all seem very eager to please and service was excellent. The small dormitory bunk rooms 2 and 4 bedded) are in wood and simple but with comfortable beds and sheets/towels were provided FOC for a 3 night stay. The communal unisex bathroom facilities were spotless, with good showers. The no-choice evening meal consisted of 4 courses and portions are generous, often with leftovers, just the thing for hungry mountain walkers. Well-positioned only 5 minutes from the stage 2 gondola, it was even possible to use the lift system to the top, then ascend to the summit of Punta Giordani, and get back down again in a day. All in all, an excellent choice for our party of eight. Recommended.
Our guide took us to this restaurant on the first day of the ski trip. It was an excellent choice. Larb with chestnuts is a must try. Beef stew with polenta was delicious comfort food, of course lasagna and pasta. Theses are much better ski food that Italy offers than back to the states.

This is a no frills mountain restaurant. We stopped for a late lunch and had homemade Lasagna which was just the best. Steaming hot and hearty and incredibly good value at just 8 Euro. Great atmosphere about the place. Only criticism was about the loos, which were of the floorplate variety and incredibly smelly.
Pausa pranzo dopo trekking (percorso 8a da Staffal). La vista purtroppo compromessa sul lato del lago Gabiet notevolmente rimpicciolito e senza acqua. Polenta con funghi direi non proprio esaltante, diciamo passabile. Personale veloce. Prezzi nella media dei rifugi … quindi alti.
