Walserschild - Gressoney-la-trinite

First of all I really dont understand the negative reviews about the Walserschild. Maybe these people always eat at 3-stars Michelin eateries, who knows? We are regulars in Gressoney and we've tried many restaurants there. Walserschild is, for us, the best solution in La Trinité, here is why: -we always feel very welcome at the Walserschild, in fact it's the ONLY place where you can have Late-Night dining (which is 21.30/22.00 by Gressoney Standards). -very professional and kind waitress, she is also knowledgeable about Aosta Wines, which is very useful as some grape varieties are totally unknown to us. -very good pizzas, perfectly cooked, they have a lot of choice of various kinds of pizzas, some really interesting and rare -fantastic starters: you MUST try their potatoe cake with Reblochon and Truffles, it's really a one-of-a-kind ! -amazing pasta dishes: their wild boar tagliatelle are a true delight, and their Porcini Mushrooms sauce is not to be missed -good desserts, which is hard to find in Italy, the Caprese is good! -quality/price ratio is definitely good All in all, I would go back at Walserschild in a heartbeat !

Waitress could find us (7 persons) a table at 18 even though all tables were reserved later in the evening. Food was ok pizza would have needed some more spices but otherwise food was good. Especially the dessert and wines. Very friendly personnel.

Needing lunch at about 3pm in September most restaurants were closed. Finding this one was a godsend, not only was it open but the food while rustic was excellent ravioli stuffed with cheese and truffles and ten lamb arrosticini. They were preceded by a shared plate of local meats and sausage including lashings of lardo. We were served by a very friendly young lady whose English was much better than our Italian. Thoroughly recommended. Note though that pizzas are only available in the evening but who wants pizza when there is so much other top rate scoff.

Abbiamo preso la pizza digeribile e sapori decisi e piacevoli. sicuramente consigliato!

Pranzo di notevole livello, è emersa la grande professionalità dello chef, con piatti eccezionali. prezzi assolutamente corretti, relativi alla qualità servita. Sussurreremo.
