The Ashley - Greymouth

Place was fantastic except for a few quirks that I found annoying. Would definitely stay here again and other Ashley hotel locations whenever I visit New Zealand again. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They let us have a late checkout, 11 am. The beds were very comfortable as well. I stayed overnight on Jan 15th. Luckily it was a cooler day, if it had been hot, I would've definitely given a 2 or 3 star rating as there is no air con. But it did not matter to me as I just left the window open and had the fan on which made the room comfortable. During a hot summer day, it won't be good value for money. The other quirk is the shower head, absolute abomination. Excellent pressure but you can't call it a shower head. And the sink had 2 separate taps for hot and cold, so you either froze your hand or burned it. Can't mix the water. The hotel was perfect for our needs and would stay again.

While travelling through the south island, I stayed at the Ashely Hotel for a night. The staff were fantastic to deal with, and when I visited the restaurant and bar April made sure I was taken care of and went above and beyond making sure I was looked after and even giving me tips on places i should visit while in Greymouth. Definitely a credit to this Hotel having friendly and helpful staff like her. Rooms: 3

Absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had in NZ from a hotel because of a gentleman called Nick who was front of house. He went to his way to find me a room . Professional, caring and totally thorough with a beautiful caring attitude. He found me the perfect room that I couldn’t have been more happier with. And certainly the best room out of the 10 motels I stayed at in my trip around the Coast. Would highly recommend a stay with Ashley motel when Nick is working. Such a pleasure to meet!!
