Not s bad place for a coffee and a sweet snack. Quite busy and noisy and a smile from the staff wouldn't hurt! I really like my food served with friendliest and this place is a let down in that aspect.
A good 'French ' style baker recommended.<br/ <br/ Although the French baker has long since departed for havelock north, Rusty maintains a pretty good semblance of what this little cafe bakery used to be. Some French specialties don 't appear anymore but the breads are still good and the pastries better than anything available locally.<br/ <br/ The space is pleasant, restful, clean, comfortable and perfect for reading the paper. Sitting outside on the street is also good and very dog friendly.<br/ <br/ The menu is more constrained and less robust than that at the more grungy cahoots down the road. Pretty basic blackboard menu but the main draw is the baking. Coffee can be variable but is usually ok depending upon who made it.<br/ <br/ My only gripe is their not taking credit cards but that seems to happen at a few places. <br/ <br/ The French Baker (present or otherwise) has been an important part of greytown 's food scene for some years and hopefully will continue to do so. <br/ <br/ Recommended
Had a really pleasant lunch here this afternoon. Grey towns cafe's are limited, so obviously not a huge range and options for a city slicker like me. <br/ <br/ These guys are great, they don't buy into the stigma that everything needs to be overpriced to make money. They do the basics really well, my tuna and red onion bun was really enjoyable and they do a really good coffee as well. <br/ <br/ This place could be rated higher, just the ambience and general feel of the place is catering to the set demographic out here. (Old lol . <br/ <br/ Would recommend for a coffee pit stop : . <br/ <br/
Have been to the French Baker several times per Zomato days and always enjoyed the visits. This time was no exception.<br/ <br/ We didn 't dine in but took away croissant and pain au chocolat to consume in front of the fire at home. We also grabbed a couple of coffees.<br/ <br/ Nothing beats a 'real ' croissant buttery, flaky and delicious and the specimens here were just that. Coffee was hot and strong too.
