My Slice of Pie - Grove

Came here for brunch as it was near your Airbnb The coffee was average and the actual savoury breakfast menu is not exceptional.

If I lived in Hobart, this place would have an everyday visitor.

In our 2 weeks exploring Hobart, Bruny Island & the 'Deep South', THIS was our fravourite food find! It is somewhat off the beaten path, but sooooooo worth the detour! Set smack in the middle of farmland & surrounded by apple trees, sheep & a picturesque mountain range, My Slice Of Pie is all about good, tasty home cooking that immediately makes life feel a little better. We visited on both days we were in the area, once for morning tea & once for lunch. On both occasions the coffee & food was superb & the staff friendly & welcoming. My lunch consisted of a chicken & leek pie with a side salad & some accompanying chutney. The salad plate was presented with a selection of fresh salads, each one fresh & delicious. The pie had a super-thin wholemealy pastry & was divine...as was the filling, which was packed with chicken & flavour. For morning tea we'd treated ourselves to apple & blackberry crumble. All I can say is....SIGH! Definitely comfort food. My only disappointment was that we werent staying longer to try out more of the menu. This little treasure is closed during June, but for any other time of the year, it is worth programming the GPS for!!

This is a venue that provides good old fashioned country cooking in a country locality. It is clean and pleasant with great staff and as the name implies, lots of pies. Soups and sweets are also lovely
