Dionysos - Gruenheide (Mark)

In fact, the Greek restaurant “Dionysos” is a traditional restaurant, at least in terms of location. Since 1904 there is a restaurant in Fangschleuse (Land Brandenburg about 7 km east of Berlin) on the Berlin-Frankfurt O-Breslau railway line opened in 1842 with the name “Waldschänke”. Unique, however, is a new Greek restaurant which was opened in 2020 in the old restored factory brick building. Gastronomy has been working here for almost 120 years – with changing operators and repeatedly interrupted by a few long closing times. Before the now Greek gastronomy, the previous operator had left this locally difficult situation in 2018. Since the railway line has just been routed from Berlin to Frankfurt O, the small railway stations are not located at the respective locations, but further away – the railway did not want to drive snake lines and the locations said, rather a distant station than a railway station. The Fangschleuse Station and therefore the restaurant are 2.5 km from Fangschleuse and 2 km from Grünheide Mark. The restaurant is located on the north side of the Fangschleuse station. There is a small in-house parking space and a P R parking space for the station that can also be used. In front of the house there is a large beer garden which is somewhat shielded from high hedges against the road and is covered by high old trees. In the house is the discrete Greek furnished guest room. The service was personalized, friendly and attentive. The map is quite lush and offers numerous dishes, also known from other Greek restaurants, in the middle to slightly elevated price range. I chose the Rhodos cellar (Gyros, Bifteki gemisto, Zaziki and garlic potatoes) for 15,90 €uro and Köstritzer black beer from the barrel (0.4 liter for 3,90 €uro). The somewhat longer waiting period, which showed that despite the extensive map the food is freshly prepared, was bridged by an ouzo to the house and a mixed salad. The part was very plentiful – almost I would not have done it. I liked it, only a fan of these garlic fried or roasted potato slices I did not become this time. But that's personal taste. With the invoice, an ouzo or espresso was offered to the house. I took the espresso for security reasons. Conclusion: Even if it is located directly outside the home zone, I would like to visit the “Dionysos” again and I hope it can keep despite the Corona-complicated situation and also remote location.
