She took our drinks and eating order. the drinks arrived and then it took another 45 minutes to find someone again and ask where it was eating. the problem here was that not one person told us that they run behind the food. No one came to take our order or to check if we wanted other drinks. I was on the way, and she said it was ready. the food was delicious and cannot be beaten. but the lack of service ruined the night and my appetit
You visit the place, expect some Italian style through its name. the pasta hardly remembers real Italian culinary skills, as well as the wine might rather pass than edgy. personal has no interest in a friendly feedback and laughed with the thing. napoli is only not an Italian restaurant (as silly to think so at all! short; too much pretense, overpriced, unprofessional. a second visit not worth.
What a shame! Visited here in Aug 2012 and really enjoyed the food. We returned to get another big carb loaded meal after a day sailing to be served by two very overstretched and tired waitresses. We sat down outside and waited 20 minutes for...a menu! After which we waited another 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. Once the drinks finally arrived we quickly gave the waitress our food order to cut time. However, another hour passed by and we were still waiting!! As we knew the portions were big we only ordered a main course each two plates of pasta. Nothing complicated. Looking around all the other tables seemed to be food less! Everyone had run out of conversation and seemed to be hungrily glaring at each other hoping someone would magically appear with their order. It seemed that not only were the two waitresses trying to keep up but the kitchen just didn't have the staff to cook all the orders. We were finally greeted by the rushed waitress with two massive plates of pasta. I had the Spaghetti Vigorelli and my boyfriend had the Penne Du Chef. Both dishes could've been shared by 3 or 4 people each. No necessarily a bad thing but in this case it just made us feel overwhelmed and a bit ill. My dish was a cream, ham and mushroom sauce It was basically a cream soup! My boyfriend had a tomato based sauce that was swimming in oil. Tipping the bowl to one side, you could spoon the oil that had separated from the sauce. We paid 49 EUROS for two bowls of (disgusting) pasta, a small glass of wine, 3 small beers and water. All in all, we were at this restaurant for over 2 hours What a waste of an evening and money!
Several meals here lately have proved that the annoyance and disappointment of what I wanted to believe were 'glitches ' are in fact now part of the level of service. The last visit had main meals arriving 15 minutes or more apart at our table, incorrect...extras (pasta instead of chips with replacements arriving long after the base food was cold) dirty tableclothes laughingly excused as worn but clean really and premium priced but certainly not premium quality whisky. Such a shame to see how wrong this place has gone.
The restaurant was recommended by many locals and my boyfriends parents who are living down there through the summer. We didn't book and arrived just after 8pm. It was completely full outside which was disappointing as there is a nice seating area outside under a...tree with fairy lights. It's a shame it's not near the Marina as this would be extra special. We were seated inside and it was also busy. The staff were running around! Due to it being so busy the service was a bit slow but that's not their fault as they were lovely. We ordered a pizza and pasta dish to share. Not realising how big the portions were we also wanted a small side salad. The waitress kindly pointed out that this wasn't necessary which I thought was kind of her as she could've just let us order it. The food arrived in good time, it was hot, fresh and extremely tasty. Perfect for loading up on carbs after being out walking and on the water. The house red carafe we ordered was excellent but this is probably because we house wines in the UK are more often than not quite bad. I think we paid about £30/35 in total. Not bad for high season, lots of food and wine for two. You need to book if you want a nice outside table. :
