Went to this quaint restaurant on the recommendation of friends. The meal consisted of 5 courses which the chef selects. He matches his extraordinary creations with excellent wine pairings for a truly gourmet experiences. Described as a Mexican tapas restaurant, this place represents the best cuisine I have experienced in the Puerto Vallarta area.
The concept behind this restaurant is no menu, no rules. You decide how many courses you would like (3 or 5 but you always get a couple extra), advise the server if you have any dietary restrictions or dislikes, and the rest is up to the chef. It reminded us very much of a chef's table dinner where the plates keep coming and everything is a surprise. The night we went it was very heavy on the fresh seafood so we felt that the variety wasn't there. But the food was excellent! My husband didn't care for one of the dishes (lobster) and the server noticed it in his face right away and immediately took the plate away and brought him something different even though he insisted that it wasn't necessary. The service was excellent and very personable. It's a very small restaurant so reservations are required. There is outdoor seating. Make sure you have good directions before you head out as the restaurant is almost hiding and if you aren't paying attention you will drive right by it.
