Forte Sorgnano - GUALDO CATTANEO

Forte Sorgnano is an incredibly peaceful place to visit. Nestled in huge natural reserve, you are immersed in nature. On a hike through the woods, we saw both a porcupine and a wild boar, as well as wild hare. We’ve seen in some reviews that people complain about the road but it was perfectly fine to drive on. It’s made of hard packed rock and our car traversed easily. It’s absolutely worth the drive to get away from the packs of people visiting more touristy areas. All of the rooms are redone tastefully, it’s rustic but very very comfortable, the food served on site is both reasonably priced and superb and the owner interesting and kind. In addition to being very family friendly, the refurbished Castle is a beautiful place for a wedding. Come visit. You won’t regret it!

I had my wedding here. Gorgeous location, very accommodating staff, clean, rustic and simple rooms that make you feel comfortable and relaxed. All of my guests were raving about the location.
