You will need to walk up the stairs and take a few flights up. I visited at 4:30 pm, so it was very quiet. Surprisingly, by 5:45 pm when I left, most of the tables were occupied. The atmosphere was initially eerie, but it came alive in the evening with more customers. I was warmly greeted by a friendly man who spoke excellent English. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. I ordered the Tofu special for 46 RMB, which was deliciously prepared with colorful bell peppers and a hint of spiciness. I also tried the veggie dumplings for 15 RMB, which were tasty but a bit flimsy. The service was efficient with attentive staff. They tried to charge me for tea, but I reminded them it was complimentary. They also charged for napkins, so it's better to bring your own. The decor was interesting as well. Overall, I had a good experience and I will definitely return. The restaurant is conveniently located near a bus stop and above a small McDonald's as shown in the photos.
Since 2012, we have dined at Yi Xin Vegetarian several times. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of dishes including vegetarian and vegan versions of classics like mapo tofu, as well as new and creative options. However, the excellent menu is overshadowed by poor service. The servers seem indifferent and the lack of cleanliness is concerning. Despite the beautifully decorated restaurant, the dirty and unpleasant-smelling toilet was unexpected. Additionally, the servers leave their ordering sheets on the table, posing a hygiene risk, and charge 2 RMB for napkins. A meal for one person costs around 100 RMB, and at this price point, better service and hygiene should be expected. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Yi Xin Vegetarian.
Yi Xin is located on the 4th floor of a building, with the 2nd floor resembling something from a post-zombie apocalypse and the 3rd floor being a fish restaurant with a large statue of Mao in the front. Another escalator leads to Yo Xin, which is also worth checking out. I highly recommend trying the skin bag dumplings, black rice with pine nuts, and bruised aubergine mushroom dishes. While the pasty papaya swans may not be the most delicious, they are certainly one of the most interesting things I have seen on a menu. The Szechuan Flash Riding Church dish was a standout for me and I can't wait to go back tomorrow. Overall, Yi Xin is a unique and delicious dining experience that is definitely worth a visit.
I was once her when I was in guangzhou. Rude staff, bad customer service. good eating, but the staff is rude. if they don't look European/Caucasian and have darker skin tone, they prepare for a bad customer service. I was very busy on Friday night. they put me on a small table near the stinking toilet. No one wanted to serve me, so I went to the counter and ordered. I was so upset with the treatment, I ordered so much to eat, I couldn't finish any dishes, so I took the rest home. I spent almost $100usd so that they finally began to give me the royal treatment, every minute a personal would ask if I needed something, and finally they were smiling and treating beautiful as they were for the other customers. the place is very easy to find. Directions: from guangzhou east railway station, exit "b keep them to foot for 100 meters until the road ends, then turn right, they should have a mcdonalds, left from the mcds, there are stairs. take the stairs then a few escalators to the 3rd or 4th floor until they see a great Buddha statue. the restaurant entrance is located directly to the right of the statue. reviews (of 10) price : 7/10 food : 7/10 flavor : 9/10 accessibility : 10/10 customer service : 2/10 updated by previous review on Wednesday, 30. april 2014
The good Just a street across from East Station, the location can't be beat. Food was quite good although a little greasy for my taste but it didn't taste of MSG. Extensive menu and huge portions, although many items used fake meat. The bad Atmosphere and décor was nice at first glance; when I looked closer, there was gunk on the table, the shelves were all dusty, the menu was sticky. And then the restroom my partner warned me against it after he went when he almost got knocked over by the ammonia smell. Granted, it wasn't that bad by local standards I've experienced worse but I simply don't understand why they wouldn't make an effort to maintain proper hygiene. If you can get past that, it's a fine place conveniently located next to one of the city's major transport hubs.
