Feedback gevenTried to book a table on Monday: No, we are full! Tomorrow maybe? No, we are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sorry? Never heard of that word. On Thursday: yes we have a table. The starter, an 'elsace salad ' was mostly plain lettuce. Wine was ok, but had to ask 4 x for a carafe of water. Main course, 'choucroute elsacien ' was a huge mountain of choucroute with slices of meat, all tastes the same. Looks the same too, as it became dark and the tables were illuminated with awful purple leds. Could not see the difference between water or wine, potato or mustard. All purple. Payment: no cards! Go to the bank at the end of the street! Which has an ATM behind a door that does not open after 10 pm. Fortunately there was another ATM around the corner. Do yourself a favor an go to Angelus, perfect quality and service, and on top of that cheaper!
If you want pass a bad moment with your families, try this restaurant !!!!! Food is ok, but service is zero!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Late arrival for lunch- nevertheless served and very nice welcome. Tried to go there for dinner without reservation and proved to be impossible- difficult times!
We visited for a midweek lunch with our two grandkids. They had the childrens’ menu (veal in a mushroom sauce and fries), I went for the veal kidneys with fries and my wife carpes frites. The kids drank Orangina, I had a beer and we shared a liter of mineral water. The kids’ ice cream dessert was included, and our bill was a modest €60. All of the portions were huge, and well if unimaginatively cooked and presented. The dining room was very crowded, with the tables crammed closely together, and service was friendly but extremely slow and pretty inefficient, with dishes often not arriving simultaneously so that my wife was forced to watch me almost complete my meal before hers arrived. In summary, if you are looking for lots of decent food at a fair price, this is for you. If you prefer a bit of privacy, a quiet ambience and refined French cuisine, go somewhere else.
Cadre joli pour cette taverne, mais ce qui passe pas c'est une tarte flambée forestière avec uniquement des champignons de paris ils ne poussent pas en forêt comme le suggère la patronne des lieux. les frites sont molles, la spécialité la carpe frite manque de saveur et pas de rince doigts. Seul la choucroute reste acceptable. Encore un effort et j'en suis sur qu'ils seront les meilleurs des pièges à touristes.
