The menu at this restaurant looked enticing, and we were intrigued by the food being cooked (or reheated) right in front of us in a hot wok with flames. It was quite a show to watch. I ordered the General Thai dish, which was supposed to be stir-fried battered chicken and vegetables on rice. However, the food turned out to be very disappointing. The chicken was tough and overcooked, and the reheating process in the wok only made it worse. The dish had a burnt taste that was so strong it made me feel sick afterwards. It seemed like it had been cooked with some kind of inedible fuel. The unpleasant taste lingered in my mouth for hours. As a result, we have been deterred from returning to any of the fast food vendors in the food hall.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, served quickly and cleanly in just 3 to 4 minutes. The prices are reasonable and they often have promotions. I have tried all the items on the menu and my favorites are the Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the mixed fried rice. Overall, the experience was awesome and definitely worth trying out.
I originally gave this restaurant a one-star rating on Uber Eats because my order never arrived. After getting no help from Uber Eats support, I reached out to the restaurant directly. They quickly agreed to remake my order, even though the issue was not their fault. The manager at the Guildford branch was incredibly helpful and courteous. The food was delicious, but the standout was the exceptional customer service. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
I've lived in Guildford for over 20 years and been visiting the Friary for the same length of time. Bad service, food over cooked and lack of choose.
Ordered beef dish with rice ….. bucket full of rice with barely any beef or veg. First n last takeaway from this dreadful place
