The Buffet - Gulfport

Absolutely fantastic! I had almost lost hope in casino buffets because most of them tend to be either awful or just passable. However, Island View truly stands out. The Sesame Chicken at the Asian bar is the best I've ever had—anywhere! It's made with fresh breast meat chicken bites and is served in a delicious sauce. The egg rolls are also excellent! As someone who's very picky about Chinese food, I was quite impressed. Additionally, the breaded shrimp were scrumptious! While the rotisserie chicken breast was a bit dry, it was still flavorful. I was looking forward to trying the creole red beans, but they weren't available that night—hopefully next time! I'm thrilled to see that Island View has brought back such delicious offerings in their buffet. I will definitely be returning!

We visited The Buffet to celebrate our wedding anniversary, eager to try the renowned crab legs we had heard so much about. However, when we arrived on Saturday evening, we learned that the price was $27.99 plus tax. I inquired about the crab legs, only to be told by the cashier that they no longer offered them due to high costs. Instead, they only had boiled shrimp available. I found the price for shrimp to be quite steep, but since we had taken an Uber to get there, we felt stuck and decided to stay. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed—the rest of the food options resembled mediocre cafeteria fare at best. I would have happily paid more for a better dining experience.

The buffet was delightful, offering plenty of comfort food. There was a great variety of vegetables and meats to choose from. The dessert selection was impressive as well. The wait staff were very attentive.

It was our first time dining there, and everything was delicious until my sister discovered some rocks in her food. After that, we decided to stop eating.

First of all, the cola was terrible. On the positive side, the server was kind. Unfortunately, the food was below average and served lukewarm. The kitchen staff was very loud, discussing personal matters, which was distracting. They did come over to assist customers when needed, but I wasn’t interested in their gossip. The ice cream was good, but it melted quickly, indicating it wasn’t stored at the right temperature. The $27.68 we spent each felt more like a donation, as we ended up eating somewhere else later that night. Even McDonald's was a better option.
