Excellent, real-deal Southern home cooking for a decent price. We enjoyed the breakfast, and that was the best smothered shrimp and grits I've had in a long time. I splurged on an order of biscuits and (sausage) gravy and really enjoyed it. The co-owner himself served us and even checked on us later. His mama makes all the cakes you can buy slices from. We tried their red velvet cake and although rather sweet for our tastebuds ,it was tender and tasty. Just so you know, this is the kind of place where you go in, order from the hot bar and pay at the register before seating yourself and busing your table (please act like somebody raised you with manners). The place was converted from a private residence long ago, so decent seating and lots of A/C on hot days! Only one complication: virtually no parking on the property, so plan on curbside parking. Everyone does, so it shouldn't be a problem. One suggestion I would like to make: in your bottled drinks, start carrying coke zero, and for the fountain drinks (ie--unsweet tea and coffee) some Splenda would be welcome. Parking: Street parking Wheelchair accessibility: Ground-level entrance, wheelchair ramp up to ordering area. Wheelchair-accessible tables.
Great eating with personal note. the friendly smile goes far too. these owners and workers have something special here.
My wife and I love her to eat. always delicious and cheap. trying to open them is hard, they close early to Friday and Saturday. no chance to eat during the week.
