Your usual Wetherspoons pub. Grubby, overworked staff, and average service. It served its purpose on the night, but not somewhere I would choose to go again.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant, but the manager made an effort to make up for it. I ordered the fish and chips, but when it arrived, the fish was so tough that my knife couldn't cut through it. I rarely complain, but this was inedible. When I mentioned this to the server, she just took the plate away without a word. The manager then came over and offered to replace the dish, but when I asked for something else, he informed me that they were out of flour for the batter, which surprised me as he should have known this already. After changing my order to scampi, he returned to tell me they were out of that too. By this time, my family had finished their meals while I sat waiting. The manager offered me a free drink as compensation, but I felt this was inadequate. I ended up ordering a different meal, which was cheaper than the original, but no refund was offered. Although the manager tried his best to rectify the situation, I was left disappointed and unlikely to return.
I was deciding where to go for a late lunch, and I decided to try out Weatherpoons for a meal. I opted for the standard size all day brunch, which came with a drink. I chose a low-alcohol or alcohol-free beer, which surprisingly tasted just like real beer. For dessert, I had a mini American style pancake topped with strawberries. Both the main dish and the dessert were delicious.
Decent spoons pub, food was average not the best for some dishes like the curries pizzas or nachos. Tables are often left unclean, can be busy at times, nice beer garden and outside area. Good service
