Ty Coffi - Gwynedd

The coffee and cake were good. However, I ordered my hot chocolate without cream and marshmallows. When it came with them (and I'd unknowingly paid almost £5 for the privilege), I went up to the counter and politely asked for it to be changed. I was shocked at the grumpy reception. They brought me a new one, but did not refund me for the difference, even when I mentioned it. Couldn't help but feel disappointed and it really ruined the experience.

The service at this restaurant is top-notch. I requested a Lemon and Ginger tea, and even though they were out of stock, a staff member went above and beyond by offering me their own personal tea. The dedication to customer satisfaction is truly impressive. Thank you.

The full breakfast at this restaurant does not include mushrooms, fried bread, black pudding, or tea/coffee for £10.00. The bacon and sausage were grilled, but all I could taste was burnt bacon. The plate was cold, the beans were only warm, and the bread seemed very cheap. The eggs were fried though. Overall, I would recommend going somewhere else as the food quality and preparation seemed lacking.

The food was lovely and the staff were pleasant and polite. I took a group of people with learning disabilities here and they don't accept cash which excluded some of the people. It's incredibly demeaning and discriminatory to those who don't have card accounts for whatever reason. Very disappointed to find this sort of attitude has spread to Bala.

Called in whilst passing through Bala as it was almost the only cafe open when we visited. So glad we did, it was a real find. A warm welcome, plenty of seating including settees and good quality and value coffee and scone. A place to call into if you are passing through Bala and one we would certainly return to, maybe for lunch next time !
