I'm definitely not an expert in Shanghai cuisine or Chinese for this matter, but I tried at least a few places. This is my favorite total Chinese restaurant for a number of reasons, but at least, a place I do not recommend enough. The food is top notch to prepare in terms of quality, variety, portion and speed. Service is also good. The image below is the best product, a slightly broken (w/ seaweed! fried fish served with salt and pepper. A small vinegar puts it over the top. Other favorites are the eggplants with Bonito flakes, bbq pork belly, and xiao long Bao (Soup pork dumplings I argue are better than Din Tai Fung (or at least on place, cheaper and less wait!
I visited this restaurant with a group of friends, and I enjoyed the soup and the orange pork; both were quite good. The eggplant and fatty pork were also tasty. The duck was decent, but I found it a bit pricey. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience.
This was our first visit in a long time, and we really enjoyed it. The menu features unique dishes that taste great. It's a refreshing twist on typical Chinese restaurant food, and we left satisfied.
Great traditional Chinese food, definitely will be back once I visit LA again
