Callooh Callay - Hackney

Had prebooked at CC in Chelsea for a birthday party. Was not told that the main bar was closed. Only downstairs available. Cocktails were average/good for the price. Only food on offer was chips and olives. Staff friendly and efficient. Left very quickly to find an alternative venue with better atmosphere and cocktails.

Been there with some friends. The waiter is been very kind and helpful. A nice atmosphere and good cocktails..

Really good drinks and the staff are all great, we were disappointed it shuts so early but that's not their fault. Get on down! :

Came here as it was near our hotel and got a good write up in Time Out. Recommended by the barman in Happiness Forgets also. Reviewing here mostly in response to negative reviews below that seem entirely undeserved. This bar is extremely cool. Great decor, lighting, music. You even have to go through a Narnia-style wardrobe to get to the back bar and toilets! The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming from the second we walked in. The made sure we were regularly hydrated, provided expert advice on our drinks and paid attention to our every need. One of the best bar experiences I've had in a while. Maybe the people below went to McDonald's by mistake.

I was lucky enough to come to this bar in march for a friends birthday. I had reserved a table and could not believe I was upgraded to VIP. The service was brilliant from start to finish. The doorman who let us in was polite and friendly. Then we were greeted by someone (unsure of name, Irish very friendly) who showed us to our table. We were then cared for by Marcus who was fantastic and a brilliant barman. The bar itself is in a brilliant location, fantastic cocktails and wine, and beautifully decorated. We will be coming back again! Thank You!
