Rik's Cafe - Hagerstown

My wife and have been to Rik’s twice. It’s not exactly around the corner so a return visit is good news. We returned because the food is interesting, the bar had Laphroiag, and a good draft selection. Also, the staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and the partner on site was chatty. We had one of the specials, a chicken sandwich which as best I recall was composed of: beer can can chicken breast, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Mac cheese all between a burger bun. Naturally, I was suspicious that this was more than a mouthful. The bartender, we sat at the bar, confirmed so I knife and forked it. Carolyn got the Mac on the side and wen for the big bite. Delicious. We had desert, a red velvet cake, which was quite nice. While we like a little desert, we rarely finish one even though we share. The left over part we brought home. By far not only the best food I have had in a long time but also the best service!! We were greeted with a warm welcome and treated like family. The food was meticulously seasoned and purposefully constructed! The bison burger and mahi tacos were equally outstanding!! Without even requesting, our sweet server, (Rick) took it upon himself to split our plates, so we could share with ease. To top off our experience, Rik (the owner himself) came over to check on our experience. Friendly, personable and professional. We WILL be back again!!

We eat at Riks a couple times a year and it NEVER disappoints! Everything we have ever had has been excellent. Chef Arik is so talented and all of the staff are on point! Kelsie was our waitress this past week and she went above and beyond to take great care of us ! Love this place and the people working there! Keep up the amazing work!!

OMG! First time here based on Trip Advisor’s #1 rating. Fantastic hostess, great bar/server staff, great friendly interaction between staff members and with their customers. Food was perfectly cooked, well presented and absolutely fresh and delicious. We had the scallop special and the lamb burger. Can’t say enough!

I do enjoy dining at Riks .. great servers .. food selections right on top of anyone’s list .. never had one bad meal there ..and then to have management come over to everyone’s table to chat .. hoping one day to see Riks on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. !!
