Having grown up in East Los Angeles, California, where Mexican food is truly part of the culture, and spending weekends in places like Punta Baja California in northern Mexico, I found this restaurant to be disappointing. The service was unwelcoming and dry. The tortilla chips tasted like they came straight from a bag, and the only decent thing was the guacamole. The enchilada sauce was overly salty and lacked any authentic flavor. What a waste of money!
Nachos Grande were some of the best I've ever had. Loaded with queso, chicken, beans and ground beef. Chips were crisp and fresh. Had the sopa as well. Delicious. There was close to an entire avocado in my bowl of soup. Flavorful broth. Rich deep flavors.
As always, El Ranchero did not disappoint. The burritos and chili rellenos were just perfect—fresh and delicious. I could have eaten more, but once you start, it’s hard to stop! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the Tri-state area. If you're in search of authentic Mexican cuisine, this is definitely the place to be!
We arrived at a hotel on the street and had a disappointing dining experience. The food was cold, and we didn’t receive all of our order. I don’t think we would return.
