Toohey's Butchery Bistro - Haiku

We spontaneously decided to try this restaurant while in Haiku, and we were absolutely impressed! The roast beef we ordered was more like bresaola or a delicious prosciutto, with a light and tender texture that melted in our mouths. Originally planning to make sandwiches with it, we ended up putting it on a charcuterie board that disappeared in 15 minutes. We also tried the jerky, which had a nice steak-like quality with a thicker cut and tenderness. An added bonus is that they are a whole animal butcher! We heard they will be reopening the restaurant and bar in a couple of months with live music. We can't wait to see the final result!

I used to love this restaurant, but I don't go there anymore because they are only open about half the time. I hope they become more consistent in the future so I can come back.

I am grateful for Austin and this restaurant. They serve grass-fed, organic, fresh, and locally sourced beef. They are doing an excellent job and are truly a gem in Maui. If you are looking to eat healthy, this is the place to visit.

We were in Haiku and stopped at Toohey's to pick up some steaks. The 2 guys working the counter were so friendly. They had just prepared fresh cuts. The steak was delicious. We almost missed the shop. It's tucked away (if you are on a dirt road next to main road you are in the right place). Definitely worth a visit!

The service here is personable and fun. The meat I bought was fresh and delicious!
