We, (a party of 4) went to Smokey 's at 5:30pm on Friday, April 24th. When we walked in there was only 2 other parties in the entire restaurant. As we stood by the door waiting to be seated we noticed several dirty tables around us, (food and crumbs, not dishes). The floor was filthy dirty. We were seated near the piano. On Tuesday when we made our reservation we asked what time the piano player started. We were told 6:00PM. One of our party ordered the 12oz. rib-eye steak. The waitress said the owner and piano player was in Orlando buying steaks. However she said the owner told the staff if anyone orders the rib-eye give them a filet mignon at the rib-eye price. The soup came (potato soup) and it was horrible. AT THAT POINT WE BEGAN THE WAR OF THE FLIES!! There was a fly infestation, flies on our water glasses, our food, the bread basket. You had to eat holding your fork or spoon with on e had and shoo flies constantly with your other hand.. We are the idiots. We should have gotten up and left telling the waitress that this was un acceptable, but we didn 't. When the main entrees came my friend who was suppose to get a filet mignon got something that didn 't even look like a filet mignon. It was about a 1/2 inch thick. A decent filet mignon in a restaurant is usually 11/2 to 2 inches thick. I ordered meat loaf which was dried out and overcooked. The meal was disastrous. One other couple came in while we were eating. No one was there to greet them, so they decided to go to a table themselves. The first table was dirty with food. They went to another table. That was dirty with food. They said out loud, this is a bad sign , turned around and walked out. The whole time we were there the waitress kept apologizing for the flies. That didn 't stop the flies. When it was time to pay our bill the waitress said she would try to call the owner to see if some kind of compensation could be granted to us. She came back and said she couldn 't reach the owner and she didn 't have the authority to give any compensation. I find it unbelievable that an owner of a restaurant not on site cannot be reached by phone. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. IT IS A DISASTER. THEY HAV E BEEN OPEN FOR 5 MONTHS, THEY WILL BE LUCKY TO MAKE 10 MONTHS. YUCK YUCK YUCK
