Tavern On The Dunes - Haines City

My friends I wanted to play here last year because they ventilated their greens in the week we visited Orlando for our 2021 golf trip. This year we booked a teenager last week (early 2022 May) and all I can say is WOW!! We were all grateful that we played here this year as they were supposed to lie to their greens in June. Before playing here, I heard nothing but great things about this course and now we all know why. It is one of these rare Florida courses, the extensive altitude changes, rolling waves and nearly 200 bunkers. Some were huge and deep. Almost all were well maintained. The greens were fast and speed of the game was perfect. A warning for high handicapper like me; this course is difficult if you spray it everywhere on the place and you will probably have very few if any lies. But it's fair if you play smart and one of my favorites I've ever played in Florida, despite all the challenges that the layout presents. I highly recommend them as one of the best public admission courses in the larger Orlando area.

Fantastic. The conditioning of the course was amazing. Nice layout. The greens were challenging, but fair. The pace of Play could not be better. Very friendly staff. It will definitely play again.

Played 7 courses in 6 days, and that was tops of them all. Incredible layout, conditions, staff were all super friendly. Course is incredibly challenging, but gives enough tea blocks that you can easily find one that fits your game so you enjoy. Greens were the best you'd find anywhere. Top Notch in every aspect.

This course is a must to visit! More than 200 bunkers, but very pleasant to play and the layout is only in my taste. This time pretty windy and that made things harder.

Course is a gem. Exceeded our expectations and greens were the best we played during a recent trip to the area. Pace of play was bad but we also started at 2:30 on a Saturday.
