Sakura-michi - Hakodate

Everything was very fresh and tasteful! fatty tuna, mountain wasabi, plastered vegetables and of course for everyone. some of the flavor combinations offered here were for the first time experiences for our tongues and this is rare for a foodie! the service and the atmosphere are charming and picturesque.

Amazing eating! supernice chef and staff! near the cable car, but actually away from the tourist. Make yourself a fallen and go over the 10min from the cable car and enjoy fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine. beautiful restaurant also and the chef speaks English and makes fun. English menu also available. Honestly, the best we had on our 10-day trip around hokkaido. good price! will definitely be back in hakodate!

This restaurant was directly opposite our apartment. it would not have been a bigger surprise in what looks like a residential area: very friendly staff, tasty eating, inviting ambiente. we came with 2 young children and got a separate corner and all accented to be comfortable. eating was really excellent, some of the best I had in whole japan. the day after that we had to bring our young son to the sick house, and again the workers did everything they could help us (they English is exceptionally good). we are very, very grateful for all their help and can not recommend this restaurant very good enough with or without children, they will not be disappointed. a taxi ride is worthwhile if you are located elsewhere in hakodate.

Excellent local food from Hakodate that is reasonably priced. Sashimi here tastes a lot sweeter and fresher than the donburi i had at the morning fish market. Owner was very nice. It was so good, i went here for dinner for both nights at hakodate!

This restaurant is out of the way of where tourists to Hakodate typically hang around. I ended up here for dinner by accident but it turns out to be a blessing as the food is excellent and the staff is very helpful and offer amazing service. I ordered a variety of food a bit of nigiri sushi, sashimi, lamb, salad, etc. Most of the food is good and not typical of what we find in US sushi joint. I love the hotate (scallop) nigiri the most. It's by far the best scallop nigiri I've ever had. The tamago was fresh made and very moist. Can't complain about the Sapporo beer either. I had to catch a sailing cruise after dinner, and the staff/owner made sure the food was prepared in time, and have a cab waiting outside the restaurant with instruction to the cruise terminal. I realized later than the staff/owner has a large selection of sake and very knowledgeable about sake. It's a pity that I don't drink sake.
