This restaurant is situated located inside the Golden Retreat Resort, Haldia. The menu is an extensive one with multi-cuisine options. It would have been better had there been more options in the breakfast buffet. Albeit the food served is lip-smacking!
If you are staying at The Golden Retreat Resort in Haldia, you will definitely come across this restaurant. Located one level below the reception area, with wooden steps leading to it, the restaurant can accommodate about 40 to 50 guests but is rarely full. The staff at this restaurant is exceptional, as is the food. It is definitely worth a try. During my four-night stay here, I never got tired of eating at this restaurant twice a day, mainly for breakfast and dinner. The service may be a bit slow, but the portions are generous and almost all dishes are well-prepared. They are open until 11 PM, with breakfast service starting at 7 AM. The last room service order for hotel guests is at 10:30 PM. If you are not looking to explore different cuisines, this restaurant is the perfect choice for your dining needs. Families and seasoned visitors were seen dining here almost every day. There are also several other dining options nearby, some of which are open late. This restaurant is facing some competition in terms of pricing and quality to stay in business. I also tried their staff food, which was unexpectedly good and was presented as a buffet without me being aware of it.
Golden Retreat is the pride of Haldia. It began its journey about 15 years back but still holds a better advantage. The rooms are good but needs some maintenance but the food is really good. You can enjoy the stay with its lip smacking Chinese preparation.
The Punjabi tadka and tandoori dishes here were very cheap and yet were very spicy and delicious. The Chinese and simplifies chinese preparations were also delicious and seemed to have been cooked in the indigenous styles.
