The cupcakes in the bakery are massive (if you look in one photo it takes up my entire hand) and the employee actually had difficulty fitting it into a container. I normally go for vanilla over chocolate cupcakes, but I decided to make an exception since there were so many peanut butter components to it as well. I thought the chocolate cupcake itself was good, but nothing special. What turned me on was the peanut butter icing that was teeming with bits of crushed Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, a thick halo of peanut butter buttercream (best part in my opinion), and the mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup topping it all off (there was also a lovely chocolate drizzle). In order to capture all of that in one bite I really had to work my jaw, but the effort was worth it. The bite that included the mini peanut butter cup was practically orgasmic. Only possible suggesting is to fill the chocolate cupcake with some peanut butter buttercream. I was still wowed by this beast of a cupcake, Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews
Both of the accompanying rolls were small hot dog buns that fell apart easily and tasted terrible. I tried to reach out to the manager to express my concerns, but they never answered my call. It's concerning that they have young staff in the kitchen who seem clueless about cooking or grilling; the bratwurst was clearly undercooked. This is a health hazard, and unfortunately, I had to give my experience only a third of a star. The service was very poor. I also went specifically to try their advertised "hot turkey" that they promote every Sunday, but they didn’t have it. It seems like the standards have seriously declined since last year; the staff appeared indifferent, and nobody seemed to be paying attention to the rules or the menu. The management was too busy to even acknowledge a customer who has been loyal since the restaurant opened. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience with uncooked food and terrible service. I would not recommend this place.
The self-checkout system only accepts debit, credit, or food stamps, which means that customers without these payment methods are forced to wait in line. It's frustrating that they claim this is just how technology works. Why not invest in better machines instead of cutting corners? The constant need for adjustments is also problematic.
The store was very clean and well-organized. I was particularly impressed by the deli and fresh meat sections. Considering the prices for food, especially meat, they were quite reasonable. The fish, chicken, and ribs looked great. I recommend the roasted chicken, priced at $6.99 per pound; half a pound can feed about three people, depending on serving sizes. I also bought large shrimp for $6.99 per pound, and the fresh vegetables appeared vibrant and offered good options.
I bought a few times before, but I really wrote this review to praise a worker at this place. the name of the employee is kayle d., I called a last minute cake order and she was polite and extremely helpful. I have really appreciated their customer service capabilities and will shop there in future.
