Baba Ghanouj Cafe - Halifax

We found this little place by accident while strolling in Halifax on a recent visit. Had a wonderful lunch of Middle-Eastern Food with fabulous falafel and baba ghanouj. Wonderful friendly staff including chatting with the chef himself. So good that we came back for breakfast. I had the falafel eggs benedict which I've never seen on a menu anywhere before. It was so totally amazing and delicious. My husband had baba ghanouj and falafel on a bagel. Again, yummy. Highly recommend this place even though it is quite small. Service is fast and portions are generous. We came back one more time at the end of our trip before flying home. Excellent.

This is my kind of restaurant.... what would be considered a 'hole in the wall' establishment where the owner is present and shares some of his story AND the food is amazing! We had chicken shawarma wraps, a shawarma and hummus platter and tabbouleh and hummus wrap! EVERYTHING was amazing and truly I wanted to ask for just a big bowl of tabbouleh!!! Fresh ingredients make such a difference.....If we lived in Halifax we'd be visiting at least once a week!

I have been there for a breakfast. The place looked cheap and simple. And that's how the food was: scrambled eggs looking like omelette, super fat sausages and bad potatoes. But the shock was that coffee is an extra 1.50$ and not refilled... and when you want to pay with debit/interac, they charge 0.35$ of "terminal costs". Shocking! Cancelled, paid cash, and complained. 1st time in 6 years in Canada I see interac "terminal cost". Don't go there, there is so many great places around.

My family and I had a day trip to Halifax, and we're looking for a good, inexpensive place to have dinner. We stumbled across this place, and we're very pleased with both quality and price. We will certainly be back again.

Pleasantly surprised! From the outside looking in, the place looks outdated and in huge need of renos...i.e. its not a posche all day breakfast place. However, the food is what brings people back. Portions are huge, tasty, and better then the rest of the breakfast places in the area. You gotta eat here!
