Fairwinds - Halifax

The worst meal ever! I went back today with family, a group.of nine because we were there 3yrs ago and the fish and chips were great. Not the case today! Every fried meal...fish and chips and two seafood platters were disgusting! Clams served like a blob of soggy grease. I told the waitress there is something wrong with your fryer. She said oh, thanks for the heads up. Lol No problem charging us. Not a word of apology...never shall I return there. How can this happen in NS...

We had a wonderful experience. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. The owner, Ralph, is 83 and sat with us many time having a chat. The restaurant has delicious food at a reasonable cost. Would 100% recommend this place. Great experience from check in until we left.

The customer service was amazing. But the motel needs lots of work. Ceiling paint is peeling, the curtains have holes, the bed sheets are very old and outdated, the tv is outdated, my daughter received a rash from the pillow case, the beds are old, uncomfortable and squeaky, plus the room didn't appear to have been cleaned properly when we arrived. My stars are based on customer service and how polite,helpful and professional the lady I spoke to was. If you aren't looking for anything up to date then you won't mind the rooms

Bathroom was not clean. The back of the toilet and the floor was full of hair and dirt. We also found hair in the sink and shower . One of the pillow cases was stained. You had to pay for the each call made on the room phone. Which was fine by us because we use cell phones. Quiet time was at 9pm. Which did not bother us because we were there with our kids. This is just something I have never I encountered before at any other place we had stayed in the past (quiet time at camp grounds is usually 10 or 11pm). At 5:30 am we are woken up by a vehicle outside our room. Our room is right next to the office. Whoever was in the vehicle comes in and starts banging around and we can hear every word they are saying. There must have been closets or some type of door on the other side of the wall where our headboard is because we could feel the wall move when doors closed. The restaurant deal we ordered was a great deal but the burger wasn't the best and our cans of pop were expired. The cheesecake and fries were really good though.

We stopped her for breakfast on a trip down the Eastern Shore. We only used the restaurant, so I can not say anything about the motel. Our meals were good basic food and priced reasonable, so we enjoyed the meals. The staff were friendly and helpful.
