We were quickly seated at our table with a wonderful view. Our server quickly took our drink order. Upon her return she promptly reseated a couple to another location - which I thought was odd and not needed. Our order was taken and food arrived. Very good - tasty and well presented. Good menu and drink selection for lunch time. With the recent reopening - the patio is very popular and they restaurant is understaffed. Still very pleasant and I would return.
We ended up at this restaurant because it was the only one we could get a seat at on the patio. The other restaurants we tried in the area had hour to hour and a half waiting lists. It is right on the board walk on the waterfront. A very nice place to have a drink and watch the world walk by.The menu was largely Japanese but also curries and grilled items like rack of lamb. We tried to order the Teppanyaki , but the chef wouldn't do it outside on the patio when it was so busy. The next item I tried to order had already run out for the evening. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean chicken with Naan bread. It was okay. It tasted a bit like pizza toppings without the pizza crust. The service was just okay. The patio seemed to close early for such a busy night. Our waitress eluded to the fact that they were running low on to many items? I find that a little hard to believe for such a prominent location. There was a very angry man who tried to be seated about 9pm and he didn't want to believe that the patio was closing.I didn't realize it at the time, but the restaurant uses the public washroom as it's facilities. I wondered because it seemed a little dirty. Had it been a really busy part of the day, there may have been a lineup.
I will only go back if I am with a group getting Teppanyaki or with someone who enjoys noodles. My boyfriend and I went here for a date night. Granted it was busy on a Saturday night so we were seated outside and it was very chilly. The drinks did not taste good. I ordered a spicy caesar and it was so spicy I could not drink it, I ordered the veggie gyoza to start it seemed fresh but tasted bitter I did not know what to think. He ordered the steak which he said was awful he asked for medium and it was welldone but we waited 90 minutes to get it so we were desperate to eat. I ordered the veggie udon and it was very tasty I would order it again if I went. They did not have an dessert menu and only had ice cream when I asked. This place did their noodles well and thats about it, I would not call it a steak house and if you can not cook a steak, my boyfriend will not come back and often remarks even steaks from cheaper restaurants were 1000X better than the $40 one he received.
Very entertaining meal at teppanyaki table. Food good but very over-priced. Service very good. Only washrooms in the restaurant building were connected to the outside so there were long-lineups from the general public who were wandering the harbour waterfront. The restaurant customers had to use these public washrooms through the back door of the restaurant. With a $300 dinner for four?! Not cool. And a hot summer night with big crowds made for long line-ups and no clean-up staff. Gross.
Expensive food, pretty good service and relaxing warm atmosphere. Need a reservation in advance though. Food was fine but really overpriced (obviously)
