King of Donair - Halifax

I was a changed man ever since the day I first tried King of Donair! This is what Donair meat is supposed to taste like! I wish this place was in Truro where I live! It's a must stop when we come to Halifax! Love This Place!

When you come to halifax, Donair is one of the food you should try. The staff told me that King of Donair is the first Donair shop in Halifax.

The service was great but the food and seating is not great. The mozzarella sticks are not very good and the sauce that comes with them doesn't work. The donairs are ok, but there are definitely better place in Dartmouth for donairs.

I often take my out of town guests here to experience a real donair. The place is small and there is no washroom facilities for customers. Be sure to ask for wet wipes as you will need them. Donairs are delicious but messy!

We were recently in Halifax on business, the King of Donair had a page in our hotels room guide so we figured we'd give it a shot and try out having a pizza delivered to our room.When I called I asked about their pizza sauce, if it was overly spicy as we both have pretty severe reflux. I was told no, so I ordered a pizza with hamburger, mushrooms,ham. At 8pm on a Tuesday night (which I can't imagine is peek times), it took 2 hours to receive our food. That's fine, we were hungry and hoping it was worth the wait. WRONG! Common sense says when somebody asks you about spices and spicy foods, if the sauce is t spicy you would maybe let them know that the donair meat you use as hamburger on your pizzas is! Pizza wasn't edible for us, in the garbage it went. Moved on to our garlic finger, surely you can't mess up garlic spread and cheese. wrong! Crust was basically burnt, little to no cheese, and the donair sauce was like soup, so runny that it dropped everywhere. We were so insanely disappointed I called back and complained even though I am not a complainer by nature. I was told we could order again the next night for free (which is why I gave a 2 star instead of 1), we decided to pass but I have to give props for them at least trying. We ended up grabbing snack food from the Needs next door to our hotel and had that as supper instead. After being on the road for 4 1/2 hours it was disappointing.
