I had not planned on trying any more sushi restaurants in the city, but today a colleague of mine recommended this place and I found it to be a great spot to satisfy my sushi cravings. Even though I am not a huge fan of sushi, I do enjoy seafood and this place did not disappoint. The menu had good prices, the dishes were delicious, and the servers were beautiful. The chefs also added some entertainment by playfully teasing customers in their native language. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for affordable Japanese food in downtown Halifax. Update: I have visited again and it is still a great place. Special thanks to Ryu Update: A big thank you to Chihiro and Yuki for their excellent service. The eel section was amazing.
The Tuna Avocado Don at Ko-Doraku is absolutely stunning! Local residents are aware that this is the only true Japanese restaurant in Halifax. If you appreciate a clean and fresh flavor, this is the place to dine!
My daughter and I are always for a new sushi experience, so tonight we decided to review Ko Doraku. Wow! I have a sensitivity to gluten and the Lord who took our order (via the phone) was very thoughtful to help us with our sushi selections. He was very warm and warm on the phone as a whole! When we arrived to pick up our yummies, we also received a warm greeting personally from everyone at the counter! Great vibes! My daughter also got the spring rolls and chicken Udon and was super impressed by the taste especially the spring rolls. The sushi was so fresh and delicious! I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon varieties! That was different! The dune in the area of this hidden gem looks warm and intimate. My daughter discovered the shelves of the manga, so we eat again in the next time! FYI The best way to get in is via Brenton St. If you use the Spring Garden Rd. entrance, go safely INTO the shopping center and down to the ground. Have fun!
This is a really cute and affordable Japanese restaurant in downtown Halifax. I ordered a small bowl of Soba noodles (not a meal, just a starter) and it really hit the spot. The broth was just so satisfying. The alaska roll I also ordered was well constructed, with a good ratio in terms of ingredients. The interior is colourful and features bookshelves of Japanese texts as well as some games to play with friends.
