Despite its name, the cooking style is very old school with a westernized flavor and not always made with authentic ingredients. For example, the spicy peppered squid tasted like store-bought calamari from the freezer. However, overall, the food was decent and tasty, especially the Shanghai stir-fried noodles and the honey garlic spare ribs. The most authentic dish was the stewed beef with hard-boiled eggs, though I was disappointed that they were out of ingredients for the kidney appetizer. I was satisfied with the food and the service was very nice.
I came across this small restaurant after leaving an appointment nearby. I decided to grab some lunch to go. The food was tasty and prepared promptly. I would definitely return.
The food was delicious, and the bacon and egg breakfast was very reasonably priced.
My wife and I have been to this little place on Quinpool Road twice. The Shanghai influenced food was lovely. Spring rolls were fresh and the fired rice delicious. Try the Gen Gao chicken for a sweet and spicy treat. Authentic food served by welcoming people.
Great Western Breakfast! Best Quinpool Road Breakfast Money Value!!! You can get a really good Western breakfast for very cheap, I got a good French Toast for only 3 dollars. Good for people who want to lose weight but also enjoy delicious food (servings not too big but are delicious and very well prices). Also the potato wedges are spicy and delicious, and better than the tater tots or fries you can get at most Halifax breakfast diners. Also... friendly staff.Delicious selections also of Asian food. Very good value for the money! They give really big servings. They give very good value for the money! Highly recommended!!!
