When we took our seats, the server walked by and appeared flustered, informing us that it will be a 20 min wait. No greeting, no smile and rushed off. She was quick to take our order though & it's understandable that there's pressure during busy times, but it's no excuse for providing a reasonable level of courtesy and service with a Maritime smile!
The service is slow even when they are not busy, when they are busy the service is glacial. The food is decent and not too pricey for an airport. You don't have a lot of choice as it is Spirit of The Maritimes or Tim Hortons Express.
Food was good, service friendly but I feel like there were some service issues : our food came out much later than the same food that other people ordered after us, asked for to-go container as food took too long and flight was boarding, and the to-go container never arrived. Went up to pay the bill but the server could not find the bill.....was just a bit of an awkward visit but the food was good. $30 for 2 breakfasts with coffee. Only option after US pre-clearance area other than Tim Hortons
I travel to/from US-Halifax for business almost weekly. While having a bar/restaurant is a good idea - especially for the small US-side terminal - the table service is terrible. There's one person working tables and another works the bar. The table server will completely ignore you if you aren't physically sitting at a table. If bar staff has stepped away, too bad, wait for her to come back....and if you happen to get the attention of the table server, she will tell you just that "I only take table orders, wait for the other person to come back".Really? No one at tables and you can't take my order? No, thanks, I will get something at the Tim Hortons stand. The food, if you're able to order, is average at best. I have only had the Fish and Chips. The battered fish is greasy, as are the fries. This place is OK if you're starving or just want a beer. Short of that, eat before you go through Customs.
While waiting for our flight we decided to have a light meal.My wife and I shared the burger with brie, bacon and caramelised onion. The server cut the burger in half and served on two plates with waffle fries. I thought that was a nice touch. As burgers go it wasn't bad and the service was good.
