Tanner’s Allstar Deli Grill - Halifax

Been wanting to come here a while. Did not disappoint. The staff were really nice and the food was great. Definitely way better than subway and pretty much the same price or cheaper. Edit :forgot to mention, the owner does a lot for the community and has always given back. Not only are you rewarding someone local, you are keeping the money local and giving back to the community. He provided free food at many charity events I've been to and has given generous support to sports teams in the area. The thing is, I would have given 5 stars for the food without considering this.

Never again will I go to subway knowing this place is 2 minutes away. Great prices, fresh bread, and they load up your sub with whatever toppings you want. When I ask for olives at tanners, I get an entire layer of olives VS the light dusting I get at subway. My only suggestion would be to add a spicy mayo option to the sauces, and parmesan cheese to the seasonings, but I don't mind switching up my order and trying something new. If you're around the spryfield area and you're looking for a cheap, filling, and satisfying sub, go to Tanners. They're much better then other subs for half the price.

Fantastic food at a fantastic price! The staff was friendly as well. Absolutely blows subway out of the water.

Nice and polite staff, great new layout, the food is good and a good price. I was shocked when I was told it would be $5 more to add 2 strips of bacon, I just wanted a pizza sub and it turned into awkward silence when I asked what normally goes on a pizza sub.

MAY 2023 Editing to add: Another fantastic experience at Uncle Buck's/Tanner's! So wonderful to see smiles all around from the staff and get the same excellent service every single time I visit. Plus, everyday is Five Dollar Footlong Day!!! MARCH 2022 Tanner's is simply the best place for cheap good eats. Subs are cheaper and better than Subway, everything from the grill is fantastic, and their milkshakes and soda shakes are absolutely to die for! Well worth the visit to Spryfield if you're from another neighbourhood.
