The Exchange On Hollis - Halifax

Had the seafood bar sampler which was okay. We were excited to order the 32oz tomahawk but very disappointed when we were told they were all out! After a few drinks an appetizer which was $300 we had decided to go to another restaurant to get a steak dinner.

After sitting down we had a long wait before being recognized as being there... We almost got up to leave but then got some service. Our waiter was not having a good day; we could tell his mind was elsewhere. Regardless, the meal itself was really nice. The location is very good and it is a comfortable place to dine.

First time to dine at The X. Food was amazing. Can't wait to get back. Noise level was a big high. Esp a very loud guest at a table 2 spaces away.

I love the atmosphere and the food is amazing . Will absolutely be back next time I'm in Halifax

I would recommend friends to go for drinks as the restaurant is beautiful and the staff went above and beyond. However I was disappointed in the food. We ordered Oysters, which were lovely. We then shared onion rings and shrimp cocktail, also were good. However we had the pork belly stuffed burger and fish tacos and they were quite disappointing. The fish tacos were no different than the fish tacos I 've had at the Irving Big stop and the burger was similar to the cheeseburger at my high school cafeteria (it was a ground beef and cheese whiz mixture on a bun). The restaurant blew me away. I would say you have one of the best atmospheres in the city. The food needs to rise to the same level. Sorry for the harsh food review. I 've owned my own business and I would want to know if something needed to be tweaked!
