Nags Head Inn - Hambleton

My husband ordered Szechuan chicken, but what was served was not a true representation of that dish; it was chicken in a bright red, thick sauce. No one checked in on us during the meal to see how things were going. As we were leaving, we saw the table next to us receive their Szechuan chicken, which looked completely different from what we had been served. When we went to pay, my husband politely mentioned to the waitress, Jacqui, that the dish was not Szechuan chicken. She became defensive and insisted that it was, even raising her voice when we pointed out the difference between our dish and the one at the neighboring table. This kind of response is not acceptable from a customer service standpoint and sets a poor example for younger staff members who overheard the interaction. Overall, the food was average and overpriced, and Jacqui's attitude was unacceptable. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I have visited this place a few times in the past few weeks. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Every time we have dined at the restaurant during our stays, the food has been fantastic. The staff, especially Alice, are friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back. Pickhill is lucky to have such a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Had lovely stay, room was lovely and clean, the Chinese food was some of the best I have eaten in a long time, breakfast was superb. Alice is very welcoming Thank you.

Had a fair few takeaways from this place but decided to dine in tonight. Staff were very friendly and food was served promptly. A great experience and absolutely amazing food. Cantonese doesn't get any better.

I went there for a meal last night and was very pleased with what I had. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was very tasty. I had two dishes from the Tongue Teaser Menu which is available from Monday to Thursday. With it being a teaser menu I thought I would possibly get smaller portions but what I got was quite generous and definitely filling. I would come here again in the future. The banana fritters I had for dessert were also very good.
