The Shovels Inn - Hambleton

I’ve driven past this pub a thousand times without ever stopping, and I realize now what a mistake that was. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The beer selection was impressive, featuring some excellent real ales. My daughter was particularly excited about the vegetarian options. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was lovely—it’s a beautiful family-run pub with a wonderful menu.

If you don't mind a bit of a wait, this place is definitely worth a visit. The food is home-cooked and delicious. I highly recommend the Cajun sizzler and the Eton mess for dessert. Excellent options!

Superb pub with great beating and a delicious interesting menu with good choices. also all employees and customers are very dog-friendly (regularly bring dog biscuits or water to their table! deffo one of our regular spruche now, how walter the labradoodle may shorten the 10oz ribeye steak. if i leave

I have cleaned my mother for fish and chips today after eating here quite often. it's always a good service, worth and quality, but today all three of us thought it was the best fishing and chips I can remember to have anywhere. I can also recommend the homemade engraving (although not with fish! . thank you, we will come back soon.

Lovely and cosy place. Had a nice cosy lounge, a seperate restaurant , a small games room, and another modernised lounge area, something for everyone. We felt most welcome (including Jess,our doggie) The staff, although the young lady was on her own, made us feel most welcome and was very attentive. Had a gorgeous meal, loved it, very happy.
