Abendmahl - Hamburg

Ok Yelpers of Hamborg what gives? Why did you rate this place through the roof?? Based on the great reviews on Yelp, we booked a table. But oh man, was I dissapointed: I actually paid my son of to sit in his chair facing the open kitchen to watch the cooking. But that turned out to be a bad idea! There were two hectic people in there. Sweating in a tiny kitchen, never a smile on their faces! Not even that many guests so I'd hate to see them on a friday night. So lets talk about the food. We were 4 people and ordered 3 different main dishes. I tasted all of them... Salmon was dry, pig was dry and hard to chew, actually my beef wasn't half bad. Although a bit of seasoning would have been a great addition. The thing that bummed me out was the sides of vegetables: all the same for 3 diff dishes! Wtf?! Is this a small town inn? And I would swear that the green beans used were frozen ones. And presentation ... People, this is 2015 not 1995 see images to know what I'm referring to). Worst was dessert. A lemon/herb mousse that looked hideous and came from a piping bag. And I got to see how the woman in the kitchen struggled to get it into that bag. Oh well looks arent everything. But the taste was unfortunately not what I had hoped. Lemon I could taste, but not the herb. Left it for my son to eat. He was actually this nights big winner. Lots of dessert and didnt have to stare into that kitchen all night!
