The value is definitely there for the rpice. You can have fresh fishery ingredients. The sandwiches are great and the shrimps are good.

Gotta go there ... but didn't live totally up to the legend IMO. Location is awesome as is the atmosphere.

Very nice rolls, mackerel twice the size of the sand which and only 4.50, so nice we came back ???? Did feel looked down on my staff for only drinking tap water ????

Totally worth a visit for lunch. It's easy to find yourself queuing but it's a quick one. And then you can choose among different types of fishfood sandwiches. I would suggest to go for a classic Astra Beer (brewed in Hamburg) as drink. Cheap, good, local. Go for it!

While visiting Hamburg I found this place on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try for lunch. It was very good, friendly service, tasty sandwiches and cosy interior. There was quite a long line of people waiting to buy sandwiches, so it is definitely very popular. I am not surprised it is top-rated on Tripadvisor. The sandwiches were cheap, between 3,50-8 euros, depending on which filling you choose. I took two sandwiches which were very good, matjes herring sandwich and shrimp sandwhich. Recommended!
