It was too bad or curious when I arrived here on May 1. I was in a patient visit in the nearby Protestant Hospital-Asterdorf. from the patient room we saw various activities between the opposite buildings. we asked ourselves the question: flee market? special market on the 1st of May? After my visit I took care of the colorful drive, it was a Dutch market on the Alsterdorfer market. And between the stands I saw the flag with the name boiler house. now I wanted to answer the question, what has a sick house, a stock market together with a boiler house? at the closer I saw that the boiler house is a restaurant with a heated summer terrace for about 50 people. the large interieur, very cozy furnished, offers space for approx. 80 people on long tables. also in the 1st floor, very good overview of the restaurant, there are places. and the incoming guest immediately has a good view into the open kitchen. the menu offers international specialties as well as the seasonal extra card. during my visit, a deal of the week was offered, which I also ordered: flakcake with spatula, tomatoes and lauch at the price of 6,90 € in the waiting period I studied the historie of the boiler house, which is an important part of the history of the Protestant hospital aster village. it began in 1850 as pastor heinrich matthias sengelmann a Christian school in the elb community moorfleet to receive socially disadvantaged children there. an extended care concept is created by the desire with a mentally handicapped youth. with donation money he laid the basis for today's evangelical foundation in Alsterdorf and built a small workshop where disabled young and a home father were accommodated in the oktober 1863. in the following years lived and living spaces, as well as work and educational places it created a real small town. with the size of the small town also the energy requirement is growing. In 1910 a heating system was built, which provided the living and sleeping facilities as well as the laundry, communal kitchen and workshops with warm and steam supplied the boiler house. the city grew and grew, so the boiler house was modernized and adapted to the current requirements. so in the 60s an oil fire was made from the original coalfire. through a alliance with the senat, the church, the banks and the killing, further sanation measures were possible, among other things were converted into wide warmth. the boiler house has now been used only as emergency service until it was auctioned over ebay in 2000. end 2003 the restaurant kesselhaus was opened shortly after the inauguration of the newly designed Alsterdorfer market. The Alsterdorf market was completely redesigned a few years ago. fortunately there was no radical healing, all the old and rebuilt, but one took the cache carefully. so the boiler house (the former heating house of the Alsterdorfer anstalten) remained essentially and was converted into the restaurant, it has a large terrace outside and inside on the ascent there is a cozy fireplace. Eating is from good bourgeois to modern. it tastes! the prices are slightly increased, but still in the frame, the service is friendly and is very laborious.

Today we used the autumn sun again on the terrace and it was so great again. The service is top-class and always! very friendly. The food never disappointed us! And today it was very delicious again. Thanks to the boiler house and the very nice team.
